Dan was classically trained on piano, guitar and double bass at an early age and started writing songs soon after. He went on to be in the local honor orchestra and was soon writing pieces for the entire ensemble. Besides performing and composing, Dan has earned degrees in recording engineering and electronic music technology, and has received credits as 1st engineer and mixer for an indie jazz release, "Crusin' Some Grooves" by the Steve Wolfe Quartet.

David Dilliway began the Darkhalf project in 2002. His main instruments are guitar, synthesizers and a desire to create vast flowing space-inspired soundscapes. Influences include ambient, cosmic, krautrock and space-rock music, as well as soundtracks and classical music.

David Bessell, has a wildly eclectic career in many aspects of music, encompassing the roles of guitar player, composer, audio synthesis researcher and music academic.

Initially a self taught guitarist, Bessell went on to study jazz guitar with John Etheridge and classical composition at the Royal College of Music. He also holds a Phd in classical composition combining acoustic and electronic instruments and currently combines software synthesis research with teaching music technology at Plymouth University.

Born in 1968 in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, Dithmar used his young years playing all sorts of air instruments at home while attending school at Sankt AnnÊ Gymnasium, one of the country's most highly recognized musical colleges. Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream were and still are some of Dithmar's biggest sources of inspiration.
