Christian has always pursued a dual artistic activity. A professional photographer and a passion for electronic music led him to approach Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, Bernd Kistenmacher, Tim Blake and others, at concerts, or in private situations. These meetings, and listening to this style of music for so many years, made a personal musical project was born. Alpha Lyra was born in 2005. With his passion for astronomy, Christian chose this name, because the star Alpha Lyra (also called "Vega") is the brightest of the only constellation representing a musical instrument.
The musical univers developed by Christian is...

BatteryDead is an electronic music project by founded by German musician Christian Ahlers in 2004.

Christian started composing music in 1987 for the Amiga demoscene. His music is a melodic mixture of soundscapes, sequences and rhythm for chilling out. The goal of BatteryDead is to inspire, entertain, and at some moments touch the listener's soul. BatteryDead has his own style, so it is hard to compare him to other musicians.

Carboneids
With their album "Synthsyg" the group "Carboneids" comprising two Danes Claus Holm Lynglund and Bjorn Jeppesen present their debut-album at MellowJet Records. The duo works together since 1998. Bjorn Jeppesen with his solo project "Nattefrost" and anchorman of the broadcast "Elektroland", leaves his familiar EM-fields. Besides classical electronical sounds the album is dominated by rhythmic songs and unique vocoder-sounds. All tracks persuade by their opinionated pop-character and remind us of the early sound of Depeche Mode. Friends of 80's Electro-Synthi-Pop get their money worth. But also friends of classical EM will admire the analogue sound-worlds of Carboneids and recognize their...

Dithmar:
Born in 1968 in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, Dithmar used his young years playing all sorts of air instruments at home while attending school at Sankt Ann╩ Gymnasium, one of the country's most highly recognized musical colleges. Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream were and still are some of Dithmar's biggest sources of inspiration. From the middle of the 80's he played several synth bands and did music scores for a number of small experimental Danish films as well as attending some exibitions on modern Danish art museums. When jungle and drum'n bass hit the country Dithmar turned focus on that, producing...

Back in 1986, I got my first analog, well, partially analog, synthesizer: a Roland Juno-106. Using an Atari 800XL and a music composing software, I began to compose and produce electronic music similar to Berlin School artists like Tangerine Dream, Chris Franke and Edgar Froese as well as other European artists like Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. My music is a mixture of lush synthesizer pads, hard-beat sequences and strong melodies that create an atmosphere in which the listener's imagination is set free.

Over the years, from 1986 till 1994, albums "Projects I" till "Projects V" have been produced. During...

MaEasy MaEasy

MaEasy apparently leaves his spaceship only rarely, but if you meet him or his music, the mothership can't be too far away. With his debut-album Topp Cosmos the space-keyboarder combines electronic soundscapes with grooving space-bombast, alternating from P-Funk-affected 70th/80th-Sci-Fi-Beat to cinematic sound-adventures, enchanted by cosmic harmonies and freaky atmo-pop and sometimes invites to a meditative landing at never expected places. With MaEasyÝs sound-adventures the star gate meanwhile opens only at second glance, but then everybody realises, that after all we will be picked up sometime, somehow from somebody (quote: Der grosse Gordoni 2001).
