The multi-instrumentalist Lars "Lach'n" Jonnson (Sweden) has a musical past in bands as Zut Un Feu Rouge and Ur Kaos. Lach'n has released a number of solo albums and also cooperated with Chris Cutler and Sten Sandell amongst others. He also runs the legendaric Bauta Records label. The music by Lach'n is most often crossing borders between avantgarde, progressive rock, traditional folkmusic and atmospheric soundscapes. Necrophorus started as a companion to raison d'être (Peter Andersson) in 1991, and is the project by Peter Andersson which is closest to raison d'être in sound. However, instead of emphasizing desolation and darkness like raison d'être, Necrophorus mostly deals with a lighter and more sensitive side. Also the instrumentation is softer, more relaxed, synthesized and electrified than its companion.
