Syndromeda in C.H.A.O.S. 8 tracks Running time: 1:10:57 Released: 03/2009 |
This is a re-release of the 2000 album, which now comes with two solo bonus-tracks. As the title makes clear, Dave Gurr and Ed Britten got together with Danny Budts to produce this superb album which, as this is written, has yet to find a label willing to release it, but such is the quality of this music, it’s surely only a matter of time until this situation is remedied. Regular followers of the European EM scene will doubtless be aware of the leaps and bounds that Syndromeda’s music has taken with each album being better than the last and his heavily... more info

The best of tapes & Unreleased 15 tracks Running time: 2:12:31 Released: 04/2008 |
As a few hardcore fans asked me if the tracks from the old cassette-tapes were ever going to be available on cd, I started to polish and remaster the tracks and here's the result: A double cd - one with the best tracks from the old tapes (some have some minor glitches) and one cd with tracks which have never been released so far. (CD1 = tracks 1-9 / CD2 = tracks 10-15) Hope you enjoy :-) Danny This album is also available as a High Quality Lightscribe printed DCD-R, which comes with full-colour artwork in a double jewel box. Last days on earth 4 tracks Running time: 1:09:31 Released: 05/2006 |
Twitters and half heard 'on the edge of a dream' vocal effects mix to give 'Ballad of Love and Mystery' a rather ominous atmospheric beginning. A brace of slow deep melancholy sequences combine together to emphasise these feelings further. Sedate melodic lead detail compliments it all wonderfully. One of the sequences develops a sort of Dr Who theme tune quality as the pace slowly starts to quicken. 'Breathy' melodies are added, taking things to even greater heights. This phase dies away in the eighth minute. We get a brief atmospheric pause before first one sequence sparks into life like electricity... more info

The resurrection 5 tracks Running time: 1:10:19 Released: 05/2006 |
‘Joy for all’ despite its title is initially one of the most melancholy and heartfelt pieces I have ever heard from Syndromeda. String pads and electronics combine together exquisitely but then in the second minute a ballsy bass sequence rumbles forward and the mood changes instantly to one of a tense excitement. Mellotron and twittery effects complete a perfect ‘Berlin School’ picture. Little melodies start to form as this already awesome track gets better and better. These melodies solidify into wonderful lead lines (no meandering doodles here!). Faint, rather Gothic organ sounds mix with both cosmic and wordless vocal pads... more info

ATTACK! 7 tracks Running time: 1:06:41 Released: 05/2006 |
This release from 2006 features 70 minutes of powerful electronic music. Despite the apparent doomsday aspect implied by the CD's title, this music evokes a decidedly optimistic mood as the melodies strive for soul-gripping grandeur. Although the last track, "Too Hot for Hell", does descend into a darkness that sears with ominous augurs, the end result is one of liberation from this dire heat. Densely layered electronic riffs establish lush panoramas of glimmering sonics. Textural vistas are generated, then embellished with active sequences of vibrant disposition. Growling diodes conspire with demonstrative keyboards to create melodies that persist in increasing in scope with... more info

Birth of a black hole 6 tracks Running time: 1:12:23 Released: 05/1999 |
Syndromeda just get better and better with each album. The last offering 'Legacy of God' I thought would take some beating. So has Danny Budts been able to keep up the standard? Most certainly yes! Though this time, as the title suggests, we are in more cosmic realms there are still sequences and dynamism aplenty. Kicking of with the 24 minute 'Beyond Dimensions' we get straight in to a bass sequence with cosmic splashes over the top. An infectious though suitably sci-fi sounding lead line is then brought in. A restrained rhythmic sequence is added to the brew just before more... more info

The legacy of god 8 tracks Running time: 1:13:15 Released: 05/1998 |
I have been looking forward to the release of this CD since Danny Budts (the man behind Syndromeda) sent me a cassette of it a few months ago. Syndromeda’s first album was good, the second was excellent and this again is another significant progression. Martin Luther King, I think it is, introduces the CD with the words “I just want to do Gods will”. We then move straight into ‘Earth Child’ which is quite simply the best upbeat rhythms / sequences / scorching lead lines track from any album I picked up at e-live in Holland (and there were over thirty... more info
