Tomorrow's Wasteland 6 tracks Running time: 1:03:43 Released: 11/2009 |
A sensational, gargantuan, full-on synth album which seers to your very heart with mammoth chords, *the* most infectious lead motifs, insistent melodic sequencing from the very top drawer, and percussive elements that could level buildings. I thought I'd never hear the likes of it again. But it's here. Arcane have pulled another one out of the hat. (GG) more info

Pulse 10 tracks Running time: 1:15:14 Released: 10/2007 |
'Pulse' is one of Arcane's lesser known film soundtracks, a police thriller made in 1981 and set in Northern Poland on the Hel Peninsula. It's of some surprise that it's finally seen the light of day such were the contractual issues around the film's ownership. The film's Polish director, Ulap Wellar, hit financial difficulties because of the number of Trabant cars that were trashed in the complex car chase scenes and had to seek financial backing. Hence the film's ownership remained embroiled in deadlock until very recently. In isolation, many soundtracks can be hit-and-miss affairs. Glimpses of brilliance outweighed by filmic... more info

33 1/3 RPM 5 tracks Running time: 1:00:40 Released: 06/2004 |
It was long rumoured that the seminal 'Teach Yourself To Crash Cars' album was planned as a double. The myth grew when a copy of 'Pt 2' was supposedly spotted in a backstreet record shop in Berlin, next to TD's 'The Keep' LP. It wasn't until Buchloh's studio was being relocated that rumour became reality. In amongst a box of various EM albums was a white label master which simply had written on it 'Arcane 33 1/3 RPM'. It was unmistakably the long lost part 2, and it is a digitally remastered transcription of those sacred grooves which is presented... more info

Alterstill 5 tracks Running time: 0:50:05 Released: 06/2001 |
Messrs Schreck and Buchloch, enthused by the reaction to the 2nd incarnation of Arcane, have bowed to public demand and released this, a collection of mainly studio pieces which both precede and succeed the existing Arcane releases. 'Alterstill 1' is an incredible track taken from the 'Lupus' sessions, a period where they were further developing their melodic sequential style characterised by their 'Polish' concert tour in the late 70's. The track is quite simply one of the finest melody/sequencer fests you are likely to hear - with biting drum rhythms and crystalline effects inspired by the sub zero temperatures which they... more info

Future Wreck 4 tracks Running time: 1:01:44 Released: 03/2000 |
For me, Arcane's debut album 'Gather Darkness' was striking for the magnificence of the opening track, with infectious melodics and sequencing to match Schmoelling and Franke at their best. If the TD ''Logos' era was for you, then it's a "must buy" album on the strength of that track alone. All subsequent tracks on '...Darkness' charted an earlier period, the pounding sequences sounding sensational but I craved for more of that magical infectious music. On 'Future Wreck' my prayers have been answered, with 3 of the 4 tracks delivering exactly that. That's not to play down the opening title track which... more info

Gather Darkness 5 tracks Running time: 1:08:42 Released: 06/1999 |
On the strength of this amazing album Arcane are set to become one of the truly great Electronic Music bands. If you know and love your sequencer music this album will just blow you away. Much of the music here could be thought of as ‘Logos’ period TD as far as the lead lines and sequences are concerned but many of the sounds and atmospherics would not have been out of place on ‘Encore’. A lonesome bell rings out and scattered notes increase the feeling of desolation. A flute sound adds to the atmosphere but the first sequence soon makes itself... more info
