Piano Textures 2 6 tracks Running time: 0:50:59 Released: 11/2009 |
Piano Textures 2 is an album for lovers of piano-atmospheres, and people who look for beauty and melody in contemporary music. A collection of tranquil, intimate, atmospheric piano & synthesizer pads inspiring the canvas of imagination. by Paul Jury - Morpheus Music - UK 2009 STYLE Delicate piano atmospheres with subtle electronic support. Bruno Sanfilippo presents here a series of very beautiful compositions that feature an 'old lady grand piano' recorded during the night hours. Smooth electronic washes and drones are laid down in gentle layers forming light, hazy expanses within which the master instrument luxuriates. The piano playing is mostly of... more info

Auralspace 7 tracks Running time: 1:11:30 Released: 04/2009 |
A suite of flowing ambient expanses - some with rhythm, some without. This series of seven tracks is arranged into a continuous fluid whole. Although each track has a distinct character of its own the connections are almost seamless as subtle sonic morphing takes one piece smoothly into the next. The various compositions are united by a tranquil drifting quality that ebbs and flows in ponderous undulation - very restful, mesmerising. Yet there are great depths here, and strong sonic colour: distant jangles, twittering birds, soaring air movements, muted whistles, echoing crystal-like electronic phrases, distorted ethnic flutes and patches of... more info

Piano Textures 8 tracks Running time: 0:55:48 Released: 05/2007 |
This album is what it says, eight pieces of piano music recorded in night sessions on a 1923 Steinway, along with strings, synthesizers, and something called an Armenian duduk. Needless to say, this is not driving music. This is music for having friends over for wine and quiet conversation – or perhaps for just having an evening alone with one special friend. The piano playing is delicate and beautiful. The strings complement the music nicely, although I find they add considerable sadness to the beauty. Most pieces are sparse and slow, although track four is a notable exception, a more... more info

InTRO 7 tracks Running time: 0:53:53 Released: 06/2006 |
All music by Bruno Sanfilippo except InTROsacro with Alio Die (Stefano Musso) Bruno: Piano, synths, samplers, various acoustic instruments, nature & environmental sounds and computer processing. InTRO is one of the finest ambient releases we've heard this year. [Synthtopia.com] I like it very much. Your style ranges nicely between the textural and the melodic, and I think your use of organic and acoustic (at least sampled) elements is very tasteful. The last piece on the CD reminds me of some of the better work of Vangelis. Robert Rich InTRO is exellent, a little deeper than your previous albums and with a lot of details.... more info

AdLibitum 9 tracks Running time: 0:54:33 Released: 09/2004 |
What a delicately striking album this is. Part dark electronic, part new age, part soundtrack music, ad libitum all blends together into a wonderful tapestry of sonic imagery. From deep reverberating piano to lush atmospheric textures to cool electronic grooves, each element is perfectly placed. Hipnoide starts with the aforementioned piano, melancholy and lovely in a Harold Budd sort of way, simply gorgeous. Tympani is used to great effect in Intention, enhanced by various synthetic touches, strings here, percussion there. The quiet understated mood continues with Devoción, dominated by piano, strings, and something resembling harpsichord. It is more orchestral than... more info

Visualia 9 tracks Running time: 0:59:36 Released: 10/2003 |
Contrasting sound-sculptures in 9 movements that capture the essence of the dreams. The album is an invitation to be transferred towards an inward and timeless dimension which encourage imagination and fantasy. As a music reviewer, nothing is more frustrating than to listen to an album, know you want to write a favorable review of it, and yet not have a clue how to do it. That's where I find myself with the latest album from Bruno Sanfilippo, Visualia. I must have listened to this album at least ten times.. I know I like it (even love parts of it), but I simply... more info

Suite Patagonia 7 tracks Running time: 0:46:59 Released: 01/2000 |
This is a grand "tale", all the more remarkable when one reads the extensive (pages and pages of them, in fact) liner notes which recount the history of the land of Patagonia. It¹s much more along the lines of soundtrack music, especially on tracks like the opening "Sayhueque", (church-like bells, pounding timpani, and bass-strings may bring to mind Morricone¹s great soundtrack for The Mission). I keep coming back to the comparison to a soundtrack. In fact, owing to the great liner notes and the strong visual component of the music, I sure wish someone would "film" this album. Solemnis 9 tracks Running time: 0:55:57 Released: 01/1998 |
In Solemnis the climate get closer to classical music, with certain gothic features, suggestive melodies, harmony and drama. The crecendos in pieces like 'Decorated Souls', 'Encounter with the Owl' or the beautiful 'Solemnis' show a majestic epic climate, of extraordinary melodic power. This is a record to listen to once and again, full of magic and depth its beauty is rarely seen in the latest Argentine independent production. Andrés Valle. Mellotron Mag #21 Argentina more info
