The music reminds kinda of TD's 'Cyclone'. 1997 Noah Fuchs aka John L. (vocals) collaborated with Frank Klare on the album KLAL! John L.'s more common collaboration was in 1971 on the Ash Ra Tempel album 'Schwingungen'.
This re-release is dedicated in memory of John L. who died on 15th September 2007.

If I understood German I am sure the sleeve notes would make more sense but it seems to me that this album has been released before, almost ten years ago (with the same title) but in a very different format to what we have here. At least eight of the tracks on this version were not on that original release. Much of the album is very much in Tangerine Dream 'Thief' mode. The opener 'Labyrinth' is a good start. A moody rhythm full of attitude roles forward as little melodies weave around a menacing bass line.
'Unknown Excursion' is...

I am gripped by an air of déjà vu as Frank Klares 'Area 2000' album hits the CD player. This is an album that was originally reviewed by my good self in June earlier this year. An album which left me feeling that the collection of tracks presented here had been unduly edited down for no good reason, preventing the music from flowing in a more relaxed and familiar manner which l thought would have befitted an album of this nature more readily.

Those lovely folks at SynGate having read the review, taking the comments onboard made the rather...

Frank's Berlin fixation continues a pace with 'Berlin Nightlife'. Using some of the cities nightclub names as track titles, creating some sort of conceptual cohesion, Frank has pulled together another set of private pieces,( as he calls them) to generate an album which if nothing else artistically twins the 'Berlin Parks' release. Those of you that know Franks music will have already guessed that this is going to be somewhat of a sequencer fest, (very little if anything to do with Nightclubs or the music played therein), so let's see what he's come up with this time around...

Ah, a tone poem greets us as Frank Klares latest offering "Berlin Parks" hits the CD player. The track 'Grosser Tiergarten' is riddled with Schulzian elements from the off and will keep you entertained for the next quarter of an hour without putting a foot wrong. The tracks real beauty becomes apparent at the six minute mark when kick drum and chord changes lead into a steadily evolving melody.
'Victoriapark' centres around a catchy little sequencer motif. Again we are definitely in classic Schulze territory. The constant electronic percussion underpinning some unfortunately over muted but adventurous soloing and filtered...

- originally released in 1983 -

TimeSharing was Frank Klare's first recording back in 1983. Together with Thomas Girke he composed and played his first "Elektronische Musik" (Electronic Music). They released their professional mastered music on a C-30 music cassette. - A bit quaint by today’s standards, this remastered and reissued 1983 recording has some amusing little slices from the synth time capsule. “Computer Time” has wavering synth leads and a catchy beat that propels it along. It’s an upbeat way to start. “Disco Dance” is what you might expect, a little techno pop number that does no harm,...

Wonderful classic sounds are found in abundance on Memorial Dreams. The brief “Memorial Dream 1” is vintage Jarre-like synth strings. Then we get into one of three excellent epic tracks in the 14- to 15-minute range, “Memorial Dream 2,” which blends swirling synths and piano. The piano playing is sparse, adding hints of melody and drama in just the right doses as Tangerine Dream used to do so well. Percussion arrives near the midway point as mellotron strings join in. A bit later a light bubbly sequence fades in and the track takes off. The variations in mood,...
