SynGate CD-R 2169 Decennial 1999 - 2009. It's January 1999 when in the BIOlofT the duo begins to work on their first album, Egoheart 1999, mixing their individual experiences and taking their modest gear where no such instrument has gone before. It's December 2009 and their 8th album marked their 10th anniversary. more info

Back To Orion 7 tracks Running time: 0:51:52 Released: 01/2007 |
SynGate CD-R 2123 The Italian duo BIOnighT are Mac and Sbrizzi FaBIO, Mac being pretty well known as a solo artist for he has released an impressive number of solo albums already. The title gives us a clue as to what kind of music one might expect: floating and dreaming into space? Not quite. Listening to the disc that's not really the case and I mean that in a very positive sense! The influences of the grandfathers of Electronic Music, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre and Klaus Schulze can be detected easily throughout this delicious work by the two guys. The... more info

The Rain Is Over 8 tracks Running time: 0:55:36 Released: 01/2006 |
SynGate CD-R 2122 This album marks some changes in BIOnighT'S musical activities. First, they no longer meet in the BIOlofT (FaBIO's home studio) to write and record our music to then move all the instruments to the Synthuary (Mac's home studio) to mix the material, but the whole process from writing to mixing is now carried out at the Synthuary. Second, now BIOnighT play entirely with VST instruments and effects to avoid the hassle of wires and cables as well as to enjoy the amazing creative freedom given by virtual instruments. The result is a relaxed album that freely moves from Berlin School... more info

The Art Of Friendship 7 tracks Running time: 0:59:35 Released: 01/2005 |
SynGate CD-R 2121 The Italians Mac and Sbrizzi FaBIO together make up BIOnighT. This is their fifth album since 1999 and it took them a lot of trouble to get made despite a considerable investment in new gear. The cd is almost one hour long and divided up into seven tracks of flowing melodic music from the direction of 80's TD and JM Jarre. Although the sometimes droning sequencers and additional drum sounds - in the title track for example - betray a slightly more modern approach, there are plenty of moments where you can blissfully sink back in your chair... more info

Songswell 10 tracks Running time: 0:55:31 Released: 04/2002 |
SynGate CD-R 2106 Stunningly beautiful plucked string and piano lead lines get the title track underway. They are initially left in isolation to weave their magic but in the third minute some faint synth colouring is brought in. A minute later yet another fantastic melody replaces them as well as a beautiful harp type sequence and slow rhythm. This is some of the most delicate and yet heart warming EM I have heard in quite some time. 'I Wish' begins with yet another lovely melody, this time on guitar. The rhythm is sympathetically gentle but it seems to lose direction a... more info

Daybreak 9 tracks Running time: 0:50:19 Released: 03/2002 |
SynGate CD-R 2105 We start 'Daybreak' with an excellent brace of nice deep bass sequences with a really interesting stereo effect. Its very infectious head nodding and foot tapping stuff. A lead line meanders over the top but really it's the sequences which will grab you. A rhythm is tossed into the mix and things get even better, I simply couldn't keep my body still. It's an absolutely cracking opener! 'Mosse Dal Vento' calms things down a little with nice symphonic pads. From quite early on though you can hear a relaxed sequence forming very low in the mix. This gradually becomes... more info

Afterpost 5 tracks Running time: 0:36:33 Released: 02/2002 |
SynGate CD-R 2103 OK, the running time is rather short, but the price is four pounds less than a 'full length' CD. When I mentioned the short duration to Mac of BIOnighT he said that in Italy, where he lives, that length is not uncommon for an album. He gave the example of "La voce del padrone" by Franco Battiato, one of the most successful records of all time there, which is just 31.21 minutes long. So you could say it's something of a cultural thing. As usual with BIOnightT we start with the title track. Deep ominous pads mix with windy... more info

Egoheart 6 tracks Running time: 0:54:25 Released: 01/2002 |
SynGate CD-R 2101 I am sure Bionight will become extremely popular. Their music is very easy to get on with and though they have a style of their own they did remind me a little of the best of 80s Neuronium. We begin the title track with very warm lush pads. An excellent analogue sounding sequence starts up fitting in perfectly with infectious rhythms which join it a few seconds later. Things get even better as we go on with the introduction of catchy melodies. Don't worry though this isn't too commercial just cracking EM of the variety which pretty much... more info
