This is the live set from Awakenings on 10th June 2005.
When one of the bands for Awakenings pulled out with no time left, the 4m33s set had to become double length, to prevent a 'hole' in the running order. So that the audience would not be totally bored with this, I asked HyperEx Machina to add his guitar parts to the tracks. Although he had only almost no time to practice, his playing fits in really well, and takes the 4m33s sound into another dimension.

Tracks ....
1. Visions 8:22
2. Neuronium 11:10

4m33s re-interprets this famous classical piece by Mussorgsky and renders it in an electronic soundscape. The result is sometimes controversial, often startling, always interesting.

Interpreted and performed by 4m33s using only synths, sequencers, and computer methods, in October 2007 at the Dog Kennel, Lutton, UK

The album opens with the storming 'Canyon Drive' 17 minutes long and toes were tapping, even heads were nodding.
Followed by the more spacey and out-there 'Desert Dream' which takes you ultimately to the isolation of heaven on earth.
Finally the 33 minute live sequence from 4m33s's performance at Ekko, Utrecht on 22 September 2000. Which is another journey though all sorts of places.

Is it Classical ? Is it Jazz ?
Whatever it is 'The Piece with No Name' is a different, challenging piece of solo electronics.

One person, one synth, two hands.
Whatever happens, this is music for the future, music that was inspired by classics and improvisation.

Tracks ...
1. Theme 4:53
2. Variation 14:27
3. Drum Solo I 2:33
4. Exploration 10:33
5. Drum Solo II 6:08
6. Finale 10:33
7. Epilogue 6:24
8. Single edit 4:10

I mean, to have the guts to put not one but two drum solo's on an album. Well, what can you say. Inspired ?

4m33s plays just one synth here, and just one voice of that...

An epic themed work in four parts, each building towards the album concept - Space, Earth, Man, Ritual. This is a huge ambient masterwork exploring the origins of life and its ultimate purpose - were we created, and for why, and where are we going, is there a cosmic significance ?

For the price of a single album.

‘Live in Lutton’ is an occasional series of releases, where an artist comes to Lutton and records a live set either in the studio or elsewhere, such as in the garden, or in a nearby field or lane.
This set from 4m33s was recorded in the garden until it began to rain, and then the equipment was hastily brought indoors, where the set was completed.

Recorded live at Peggers, Nottingham, on the 3rd October 2004, at the inaugural event of Ambientlive Awakenings on a cold and rainy Sunday night. The music is warm and friendly and a little spacey and mysterious.

4m33s firstly plays some older material, the extended and quite tinkly 'Atomsphere' taking up most of the first section. And then begins the main event 'The Ritual' which takes nearly an hour.

Taking the name from Cages's piece, 4m33s tries to continue the tradition of experimentalism, minimalism, and above all innovation, but using modern methods - computers, synths, samples, etc and played mainly live too - 4m33s is primarily a live act, and most of the stuff on the albums is actually recorded in one take, that is, each track is the best version of several takes, but there is little studio manipulation, to maintain the 'live feel'
