Music has been my life for as long as I can remember, it's ability to trigger a memory, create a mood or feeling, make you dance or relax is like no other. But its ability to paint a picture in your mind or take you to somewhere else has always fascinated me.
When I was a small boy I heard Gustav Holst' 'The Planet Suite' and was (and still am) astounded by how it could create such powerful images without the use of words or visual cues.
It wasn't until I was older and encountered albums such as Oxygene or Tubular Bells where I realised that you didn't have to have your own orchestra to create such image painting music of your own.
Growing up in the 70's and 80's, hearing how the evolution of synthesizer technology helped shape my favourite records, from, the 70's with the heavy layered analog modular alien sound, to the chirpy synth-pop of the 80's, the technology has gotten sufficiently powerful that it bound by nothing.
I started playing and writing my own music as a teenager, initially on guitar and then the piano, as a nerd the technology behind the studio and the synthesizer were a natural draw. I've spent the last 20 years learning how they work and how to improve my abilities to enable me to realise a dream to create original music that can paint pictures just as 'The Planet Suite' did for me all those years ago.
Hopefully I've been successful.
