Robert Fox has reinvented himself with this excellent collection of 10 new, beautifully crafted instrumental tracks that feature gentle and heartfelt vocal textures mixed with the trademark Robert Fox synth sounds plus some superb, delicate piano and orchestration. This is as serene and beautiful a CD as it gets, with deep emotions laid bare across a series of descriptive musical short stories that are ethereal, atmospheric and thoroughly absorbing.
"Short Stories" is probably one of Robert Fox's finest musical statements the music is thematic, varied, and reflective throughout, while containing a drifting quality not usually associated with Robert's grandiose style. And yet the music clearly resonates with Roberts established style and sound, albeit in a far more chilled way than we've heard before.
The excellent packaging containing a 12 page booklet with self penned notes by Robert Fox is an added bonus, and this superb album is sure to delight fans old and new.
